Default Is this an elk?

Got this big boy posing and the other is healthy but a little shy. S.T.U.D.
Also saw my first rub yesterday. Surprised for this early.

That is pushing 18" inside. Very nice buck.The one in the back looks pretty nice too.

Honestly would not be surprised if it hit lower 20's. Some of these guys are pretty beefy.
Figure a deer's ear is about 7'' long and I think the spread is pushing 3 ear lengths. I hope to find out in a few weeks!

Most NC deer are about 16" tip to tip, some as little as 15". Don't think I've seen any reach 17". Looking again, I think it may be closer to 20" inside.
