Default Bot Fly On Squirrel

Have any of you encountered bot fly larvae on any game? I shot a squirrel (#160) and it had this grotesque thing emerging out of its armpit . I am a pretty dude and things don't make me squirmish, but man that thing was nasty looking. I went online last night to see what it was, and it was indeed a bot fly. Then I looked up images of them.....,. I was until shaken when I went to sleep!!!!
Have any of you encountered them? I read/heard they are gone once the frost comes. Like I said, I have tagged many and this is the first one I have seen.
I took a picture of it too. Good riddance they are gross.
