Default Members' Archery Kills

This topic will remain "stuck" to the top of the list. This is the place to post photos of your archery kills (firearm and muzzleloader kills are located in the general forum). This can include bucks, does and other game. Photos only but feel free to include a little information about the animal (location, score, etc...). Please place comments in another location.

After battling back from major shoulder surgery and 5+ months of killer rehab, I was finally able to shoot a bow prior to the season opener in Sept 2007. I had made my mind up that I'd take the first deer (no fawns or spikes) that I saw and presented a shot opportunity. This fellow shows up at literally the last minute of shooting light. I had only caught a quick glimpse of the rack before I took the shot and thought it was a 6-pointer; I knew that it was a buck in velvet.

This was my first archery kill (buck or doe). I got him in Jackson County, Ohio in 1996. 9pt (a couple are broken but I still call him a 9).

This is my second archery buck (well, technically third, I shot buck that had broken both antlers off in about 1998) , also from Ohio (Muskingum County). This one is also a 9pt.

Got this one on Oct 9th. SE Iowa. Kinda cut my season short, but i'm not complaining. Just got it back from the taxi and had him scored today. He grossed 184 3/8".

Default Biggest Bow Kill buck.

I killed this buck in Sep. 1998, in Anson co. NC at the Pee Dee refuge. He and 4 other bucks came in on me that evening, I had found the trail the week before, with small rubs, that day the woods were tore up, rubs and scrapes were all over. I cimbed up on the trail overlooking the largest scrape downwind of it about 20 yards. he was the 3rd buck to come in, A big 6 and 8pt were in front, and 2 nice 8 pts. behind him, I took the shot as he worked the scrape ,The 100 grain Muzzy hit the mark and set him down .Thats when I shot Muzzys, they were built stronger back then, ( not to offend anyone who still shoots them)any ways he started to beat his head on the ground, Icame down the tree and thought I was at the ground, I stepped out and fell about 8feet, luckily I did not break nothing,I grabbed my bow and shot him again before he got to his feet. He weighed around 180 pounds, and scored a net 134 2/8.A nice 10 pt. he was my 1st P&Y buck to break the 125 mark. I shot him with my old Whitetail II. and 2413 arrow, and 100 grain 3 blade Muzzy at 17 yards.

Default Niner

Nine pointer taken over last Fall. I could not get the other photos to load from my album. Weighed over 200. Took two full grown men to pull him up on the gambrel.
